Parking, transit, and arrival strategy

Transit and approach

The SunRunner (bus rapid transit) stops on the north side of the stadium; the free Baseball Looper Trolley runs from downtown St. Pete (2nd St S and Central Ave) starting 90 minutes before first pitch.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: The primary rideshare pickup zone is located on 16th Street, south of 4th Avenue South. Drop-offs are typically directed to Gate 4.

Parking: Prepay for Rays-operated Lots 2, 3, 5, and 6 through the MLB Ballpark app (mobile-only; up to 6 hours before first pitch, subject to availability) to expedite entry; ParkMobile is used only for nearby third-party/city facilities (e.g., SouthCore Garage), not for prepaying official Rays lots. Lots 1 and 7 are the designated wheelchair-accessible lots near the gates.

After the event

The EDGE District, featuring late-night spots like Engine No. 9 and various bars along Central Avenue.

The game-day experience

  • Atmosphere area: EDGE District / Downtown St. Petersburg
  • Tailgating: Tailgating is allowed once the lots are open for that event (lots open 2.5 hours before first pitch Mon-Fri, 3 hours before first pitch Sat-Sun). No open flames/fire pits, no charcoal grills, and no large commercial grills are permitted; big tents are also prohibited, and structures like sunshades/folding chairs may not block aisles. Alcohol is permitted in the tailgating area but may not be brought into the ballpark.
  • Signature food: Short Rib Grilled Cheese (available at the Melted stand) or the authentic Cuban Sandwich.
  • Fan tradition: Ringing cowbells (a tradition popularized in the mid-2000s) and visiting the Ray Tank to pet live cownose stingrays.
