Key logistics
| Bag policy | Bags must be single-compartment and no larger than 12"x12"x6". Backpacks, backpack-style purses, duffel bags, and other multi-compartment bags are NOT permitted. Exceptions are made for diaper bags and bags containing essential medical equipment. Clear bags of the same size are encouraged but not mandatory for the 2025 season. Non-permitted bags can be stored for a fee with a third-party locker company located on top of the Lansdowne Garage across from Gate E. |
|---|---|
| Doors open | Fenway Park gates open 90 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of every game. |
| Cashless? | Fenway Park transitioned to a fully cashless environment in 2022. All concessions stands accept only credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, or touchless payments with smartphones. Cash-2-Card exchange kiosks are available at locations like the Gate E Concourse, Home Plate Concourse, and Gate B Kids Concourse for fans to load cash onto a Mastercard debit card. |
| Rideshare zone | Fenway Park has designated pickup and drop-off zones for rideshare services located along Lansdowne Street and Brookline Avenue. A pilot program also established designated zones on the north side of Boylston Street near Kilmarnock Street, active from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. |
| Transit | Fenway Park is easily accessible via the MBTA (public transportation). The Green Line subway offers the most direct route, with Kenmore Station (5-7 minute walk) and Fenway Station (approximately a 3-minute walk) being the closest stops. The Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail line stops directly across the street from Fenway Park at Lansdowne Station. Additionally, several MBTA bus routes (including 1, 8, 19, 39, 47, 55, 57, 60, 65, CT1, CT2, and CT3) have stops within short walking distance of the park. |
Parking
The Boston Red Sox strongly encourage fans to use public transportation (MBTA) whenever possible to avoid city traffic and limited parking. For those who choose to drive, nearby parking garages include the Lansdowne Street Garage, Ipswich Street Garage, and Prudential Center Garage. Limited street parking may also be available along Brookline Avenue or Lansdowne Street.
Family & accessibility
- Strollers: Strollers are permitted inside Fenway Park but are not recommended due to the historic nature of the ballpark and potential crowd navigation challenges. If brought, strollers must be able to fold up easily and fit underneath fans' seats, or they can be stored at Fan Services booths.
- Family perks: Fenway Park offers several family-friendly amenities: children aged two and under do not require a ticket if they sit on an adult's lap. The Kid Nation program (for children 14 and under) offers benefits including a free ticket (while supplies last). Family restrooms, private nursing locations (including a Mamava pod and a room on level 5), and sensory kits with noise-canceling headphones are available. The Kids Concourse (near Gate K) provides activities such as games, face painting, and appearances by Wally the Green Monster. Kids meals, like $5 hot dog or PB&J meals, are also available.
Culture layer
- Signature food: Fenway Franks (hot dogs) are considered the signature food item at Fenway Park.
- Local tradition: A notable fan tradition at Fenway Park involves 'first-timers' visiting Fan Services booths (located at Gate E, Gate D, and Gate B) to receive 'First Timers' fan items or a 'Digital First Timer Certificate'.
