Every October 2026 Weekend Where 3+ Leagues Play the Same City: LA's One Quad-Stack

What is the best city for a multi-sport weekend trip in October 2026?
Los Angeles, from October 31 to November 1, is your only chance this October 2026 to catch four different major leagues in one city. For about $3,645 for two, tickets and 2 nights, you can see all four games: USC-Ohio State, Kings, Lakers, and Rams-Chargers. Plan the LA four-league weekend with every ticket preloaded.
Across October 2026, 15 weekends in 12 metros host three or more major leagues, but only one offers four. No other city. No other weekend.
The counterintuitive part is the timing. The densest weekend is not when the NHL opens on October 7, or when the NBA tips off on October 20. It is the last weekend of the month, because that is how long it takes the four calendars to finally land on the same city.
One scope note before going further. The MLB regular season does not overlap this window, so this analysis covers the NFL, NBA, NHL and college football only. Baseball's October is postseason, and postseason games are not scheduled until the brackets are set, so no bracket game appears in any count below. Each league's ticket is a separate purchase.
Why October ends four leagues deep when it starts with two
The month builds. The first qualifying weekend, October 9, produces exactly one metro: Pittsburgh, running college football plus NFL plus NHL. The NBA has not tipped off yet, so every early-October stack is a football-and-hockey combination.
October 16 adds three more metros, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Tampa, all running that same college-football-plus-NFL-plus-NHL shape.
Then the NBA regular season opens on October 20. Five metros qualify the following weekend, October 23, and every one of them now carries an NBA leg. The combinations diversify: Atlanta and Minneapolis pair basketball with college football and the NFL, while Dallas and Salt Lake City pair it with college football and the NHL.
The final weekend, October 30, produces six qualifying metros. Five run three leagues. One runs four.

The one weekend the calendar gives you all four: Los Angeles, October 30
Los Angeles's games land on the Saturday and the Sunday:
| Day | League | Game | Venue |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat, Oct 31 | NCAAFB | USC vs Ohio State | LA Memorial Coliseum |
| Sat, Oct 31 | NCAAFB | UCLA vs Nevada | Rose Bowl |
| Sat, Oct 31 | NHL | Kings vs Sabres | Crypto.com Arena |
| Sun, Nov 1 | NBA | Lakers vs Raptors | Crypto.com Arena |
| Sun, Nov 1 | NFL | Rams vs Chargers | SoFi Stadium |
Two of those are marquee on their own. USC hosts Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, and the Rams host the Chargers on Sunday, which is the crosstown rivalry rather than two separate NFL options.
The geography splits the weekend in two. Crypto.com Arena sits downtown in the L.A. LIVE district, served by the Metro A and E Lines at Pico Station. SoFi is in Inglewood, served by the Metro C Line with a shuttle connection. Those are different parts of the metro, so budget two separate transit runs rather than one base. Staying downtown makes the Saturday hockey leg walkable and turns Sunday into a planned trip out.
The Coliseum and the Rose Bowl do not have venue records in our data, so confirm their bag and gate rules directly with the host program.
All 15 multi-league weekends, week by week, and the three cities that get two shots
Dallas, Los Angeles and New York each qualify on two separate October weekends, the most scheduling flexibility any market gets this month.
| City | Weekend 1 | Leagues | Weekend 2 | Leagues |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dallas | Oct 23 | NBA + NCAAFB + NHL | Oct 30 | NBA + NFL + NHL |
| Los Angeles | Oct 16 | NCAAFB + NFL + NHL | Oct 30 | NBA + NCAAFB + NFL + NHL |
| New York | Oct 23 | NBA + NFL + NHL | Oct 30 | NBA + NFL + NHL |
Dallas's two weekends are genuinely different: October 23 pairs basketball with college football and hockey, and October 30 swaps in the NFL. New York runs the same three-league combination both weekends, which makes it the most repeatable option rather than the most varied.
Here is the full inventory, in the order the month delivers it.
| Weekend | Metro | Leagues in stack | Plan it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Oct 9 | Pittsburgh | NCAAFB + NFL + NHL | Plan this weekend |
| Oct 16 | Los Angeles | NCAAFB + NFL + NHL | Plan this weekend |
| Oct 16 | Philadelphia | NCAAFB + NFL + NHL | Plan this weekend |

| * Dallas on October 23 and Boston on October 30 link their two pro legs only: the college game those weekends carries no ticket link in our data, so we leave it out of the plan rather than load a leg you cannot book. |
If the LA weekend is out of reach, Dallas is the strongest alternate, and its two weekends carry different league mixes, so both are worth pricing separately. New York is the pick if you want two attempts at the same combination, though its hotel market costs more than either.
What the LA four-league weekend costs, in estimates
These are representative averages from our pricing model, not live quotes and not get-in floors. Each league sells its ticket separately, so these figures describe separate purchases rather than one. One note on the NFL line: because the Rams host the Chargers, that weekend carries a single NFL game rather than two, so it is priced at the home team's canonical estimate of $330 rather than by adding a second team's figure on top.
| Game | League | Venue | Ticket estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rams vs Chargers | NFL | SoFi Stadium | $330 |
| Lakers vs Raptors | NBA | Crypto.com Arena | $490 |
| Kings vs Sabres | NHL | Crypto.com Arena | $320 |
The NBA leg is the one that moves the total. At an estimated $490 the Lakers cost more than the NFL and NHL legs combined, and dropping basketball turns this into the same three-league weekend a dozen other cities offer. That is the real trade on this weekend: the fourth league is the expensive one.
Los Angeles's median hotel night runs $318, from a recent sample. Two nights sits near $636 before a single ticket, which is why the Dallas and New York comparison below matters.
| City | Median nightly rate | Oct 30 stack |
|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles | $318 | NBA + NCAAFB + NFL + NHL |
| Dallas | $202 | NBA + NFL + NHL |
| New York | $454 | NBA + NFL + NHL |
Dallas is the cheapest route into a three-league October weekend, running $116 less per night than Los Angeles and $252 less than New York. These are medians from recent samples, and New York rates in particular move on high-demand weekends.
How the count works
We crossed the NFL, NBA, NHL and college football schedules and counted every unique metro-weekend pair between October 9 and October 30, 2026 where one city hosts at least three distinct leagues inside a Friday-to-Sunday window. Counts are per metro per weekend, not per game: a city hosting two NFL games on one weekend still registers as one stack.
Preseason and exhibition games are excluded. The NBA had 22 and the NHL had 23 inside this window, and none of them count toward any stack. That exclusion is what keeps the 15-weekend figure honest instead of inflated.
So which weekend should you book?
Book Los Angeles for October 30 if you want the four-league weekend, and accept that the Lakers ticket is what you are paying the premium for. Book Dallas if the number of leagues matters less than the cost of getting there, since it delivers three leagues on two different weekends at the lowest nightly rate of the three. Book New York only if the city is part of the point, because you are paying $454 a night for the same three-league combination Dallas gives you at $202. And if your city never reaches three this month, October still carries 60 two-league weekends across 29 metros: the NFL and NHL overlap ranking covers that inventory, and the season-long triple-stack list shows when your city next gets to three.
Don't just watch, Go.
