FedExField Guide

Washington

Last updated: 3/13/2026

Getting to and from Northwest Stadium is the primary challenge, as the venue sits isolated in a sea of Landover parking lots. Stay in Downtown D.C. or Arlington for better transit access and post-game options, which are limited near the stadium. Drivers must purchase parking passes online in advance, as they are not sold on-site.

Parking, transit, and arrival strategy

Transit and approach

Accessible via the Metrorail Blue and Silver lines at the Morgan Boulevard station. A shuttle service is typically available for events.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: Rideshare pick-up and drop-off is located in the Red Zone Lot, at the back side of the Red Zone Parking Lot, approximately a 5-minute walk from Gate A. Enter your destination as the Prince George's County Sports Complex, 8001 Sheriff Rd, Hyattsville MD 20785. Drivers generally will not accept post-event pickups at the stadium itself due to traffic; follow directional signage to the Rideshare lot on game day.

Parking: Most parking lots at Northwest Stadium require advance online (cashless) purchase and were sold out for the 2025 Commanders season; resale may be available. The exception is the Gray Lot, which is cash-only, cannot be pre-purchased, and operates day-of on a first-come, first-served basis — it can sell out 2-3 hours before game time, after which only third-party lots remain.

After the event

Dining options immediately adjacent to the stadium are limited; most post-game activities occur in nearby D.C. or Arlington.

The game-day experience

  • Atmosphere area: Located in Landover, Maryland, surrounded primarily by massive parking lots.
  • Tailgating: Permitted in designated parking lots; open flames must be extinguished before entering the stadium.
  • Signature food: Local staples often featured include Chesapeake crab dip and various BBQ offerings.
  • Fan tradition: Tailgating in the parking lots is the primary pre-game tradition.
  • Pregame institution: FedEx Field is currently known as Northwest Stadium as of 2024. (1600 Fedex Way, Landover, MD 20785)
