Petco Park is located in downtown San Diego’s East Village, one block from the Gaslamp Quarter, a neighborhood with numerous hotels within walking distance. The park is served by all three MTS Trolley lines (Blue, Green, and Orange), with stations located within two blocks of the gates. For guests of the Omni San Diego Hotel, a private pedestrian skybridge connects directly to the stadium.

Where to stay for Petco Park

The Gaslamp Quarter is an ideal neighborhood for hotels, offering many options within walking distance of Petco Park. The Omni San Diego Hotel at the Ballpark is directly connected to the stadium via a private pedestrian skybridge. East Village also provides convenient hotel choices.

Gaslamp Quarter / East Village

This downtown area is the historic and vibrant heart of San Diego, offering a lively nightlife, numerous dining options, and close proximity to Petco Park. It boasts high walkability, making it convenient for exploring on foot.

The Gaslamp Quarter is serviced by the Green and Silver Line Trolleys, with a stop at 5th Avenue and L Street. The nearby 12th & Imperial Transit Center serves as a major hub where all San Diego Trolley lines (Blue, Green, Orange, Silver) converge. Direct Green Line Trolley service connects to Snapdragon Stadium.

Mission Valley

Mission Valley is a central neighborhood known for its convenient location, numerous hotels, and shopping centers. It is also home to Snapdragon Stadium and is being developed as a transit-oriented area.

The Green Line Trolley runs directly through Mission Valley, with several stops including Stadium Station for Snapdragon Stadium. The Fashion Valley Transit Station is a major hub for bus transfers. The Green Line also provides easy access to Old Town and Downtown San Diego.

Old Town

Old Town offers a historic atmosphere with cultural attractions, diverse dining, and is a major transit hub for the region. It provides a unique experience with its historical park and specialty shops.

The Old Town Transit Center is a significant intermodal station, serving Amtrak's Pacific Surfliner, the COASTER commuter rail, and the San Diego Trolley's Green and Blue Lines. Numerous San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus lines also operate from here. The Green Line provides direct service to Snapdragon Stadium. Bus Route 8 connects directly to Pechanga Arena.

Little Italy

Little Italy is a lively and walkable neighborhood known for its numerous restaurants, bars, and cultural events. It offers a distinct charm and is conveniently located close to downtown.

The County Center/Little Italy Station is served by the Blue and Green Line Trolleys, as well as the COASTER train and several bus lines. The Blue Line provides a quick 7-minute trolley ride to the Civic Center Station downtown. The Green Line Trolley can be used to reach Snapdragon Stadium (with potential transfer downtown).

Arrival and exit strategy

Transit and approach

Public transportation options include the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) Bus and Trolley service. All three MTS Trolley lines (UC San Diego Blue Line, Sycuan Green Line, Orange Line) provide direct, frequent service to Petco Park, with stations at 12th and Imperial, Park and Market, and Gaslamp Quarter Station within two blocks of the stadium. The COASTER train also provides service from North County.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: A designated rideshare loading zone is located outside Petco Park on Park Boulevard & Harbor Drive, across the street from the Bayfront Hilton Hotel, next to the Convention Center. Pre-game drop-off is also at Imperial Avenue and 10th Street, and post-game pick-up at 7th Avenue and Market Street.

Parking: Guests are strongly encouraged to pre-purchase parking and to arrive early. Public transportation is also encouraged to minimize traffic and parking delays. Padres Preferred parking is available adjacent to Petco Park, and fans should choose a parking location based on their intended exit direction. The Harbor Drive footbridge provides easy access from Convention Center parking facilities.

After the event

El Chingon is known for post-game celebrations with late-night eats and DJs until 2 a.m. Bub's at the Ballpark also serves as a popular after-party spot.
