On game days, the Roberto Clemente Bridge closes to traffic, providing a pedestrian-only approach to PNC Park. The stadium is served by free 'T' light rail service from Downtown Pittsburgh and is within walking distance of North Shore hotels. Other options include Gateway Clipper riverboat shuttles and two dedicated rideshare drop-off locations on Isabella and Reedsdale Streets.

Where to stay for PNC Park

The North Shore neighborhood offers hotels within walking distance of PNC Park. Downtown Pittsburgh is also an ideal neighborhood, with free light rail access to the stadium.

North Shore

The North Shore is ideal for sports fans as it is home to Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park. The area offers a lively atmosphere on game days and also features cultural attractions.

The 'T' light rail system serves the North Shore, with the North Side Station located steps away from PNC Park. Travel between Downtown and the North Shore on the 'T' is free. Allegheny Station is also on the North Shore and provides free 'T' service to the North Side Station.

Downtown/Cultural District

Downtown is the city's vibrant and walkable heart, offering numerous dining, shopping, and cultural attractions.

Downtown Pittsburgh boasts an excellent Transit Score. Most light rail and bus lines converge here. The 'T' light rail connects Downtown to the North Shore (free travel) and the South Hills. Downtown 'T' stations include Steel Plaza, Wood Street, and First Avenue, with Steel Plaza being the closest to PPG Paints Arena.

South Side (Station Square)

This lively neighborhood features a diverse array of restaurants, bars, live music venues, and art galleries, particularly along East Carson Street. Station Square itself is a complex of shops and entertainment.

The 'T' light rail system serves Station Square, connecting it to Downtown and the North Shore. The Monongahela Incline also provides access to Mount Washington.

Strip District

Once an industrial hub, the Strip District has transformed into a trendy and exciting neighborhood known for its unique shops, diverse dining, and vibrant atmosphere.

The 54 bus route offers direct service from the Strip District (Chestnut St + Progress Fs) to Acrisure Stadium (Allegheny Ave + Reedsdale Fs). Many bus routes connect the Strip District to Downtown, providing access to the 'T' light rail for PPG Paints Arena and North Shore venues.

Transit and approach

Public transportation options include Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) light rail (the 'T') and city buses. The 'T' offers free service between Downtown Pittsburgh and the North Shore. Riverboat shuttles via the Gateway Clipper are also available on game days.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: There are two dedicated rideshare pick-up/drop-off locations: along Isabella Street directly east of PNC Park and along the eastbound section of Reedsdale Street, west of PNC Park, between the Gold 1 slip ramp and the Gold 1 Garage HOV exit.

Parking: Consider parking in Downtown Pittsburgh garages and utilizing the free 'T' light rail service across the Roberto Clemente Bridge to reach PNC Park. Alternatively, consult ALCO Parking for North Shore parking options.

After the event

Popular walkable establishments for pre- or post-game activities include Southern Tier Brewery, Shorty's Pins & Pints, Tom's Watch Bar, Burgatory, Bar Louie, and Mike's Beer Bar, all located in the North Shore neighborhood.
