Downtown Indianapolis is highly walkable and bikeable. It is served by numerous IndyGo bus routes, including the Red Line, which connects through downtown. The Julia M. Carson Transit Center, a major hub for IndyGo, is located downtown. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail also runs through this area.

Mass Ave Cultural District

White River State Park is easily accessible by various IndyGo bus routes, including 24, 8, 90, 92, 3, 10, and 37. The Line 8 bus from Indianapolis Airport provides direct service to a stop near the park. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail and the White River Greenway run through the park.

Transit and approach

Lucas Oil Stadium is located in downtown Indianapolis and is accessible via several public transit options. The IndyGo bus system provides numerous routes that stop near the stadium, including Routes 8, 10, 31, 16, 24, 25, 56, 90, and 92. The Red Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) also stops close to Lucas Oil Stadium at the Maryland Street Station. Indianapolis Union Station, serving Amtrak and Greyhound passengers, is within walking distance of the stadium.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: The designated pick-up and drop-off location for rideshare services like Uber and Lyft is Northbound Illinois Street, one block east of Lucas Oil Stadium. To request a ride after an event, guests must exit the stadium and walk towards Illinois Street, outside of the geofenced perimeter, to ensure a smooth pick-up. Designated zones near South Street and Capitol Avenue are also mentioned for drop-offs.

Parking: Lucas Oil Stadium offers official parking in lots such as the South Lot and North Lot. There are over 70,000 parking spots available downtown in various lots, garages, and on-street. It is highly recommended to arrive at least 3 hours prior to kickoff for Colts games to allow time for navigation and parking due to potential road closures and heavy traffic. Accessible parking may be available in the South Lot for some events, requiring a valid placard/license plate and a Colts parking pass for Colts games.
