Getting to Progressive Field is a breeze. You can ride the RTA Red Line directly from Cleveland Hopkins Airport (CLE) to Tower City Station—which connects to the ballpark via a 1,050-foot enclosed walkway. Better yet, most hotels in the downtown area are just an easy walk from the stadium gates.

Downtown Cleveland is the heart of the city, offering a vibrant atmosphere with numerous restaurants, museums, and direct access to all major sports venues. It is generally considered a convenient and lively area for visitors. While some sources indicate the west part of Downtown is safer, overall safety ratings vary; visitors should remain aware of their surroundings, as with any major city center.

All three RTA Rapid Transit lines (Red, Blue, and Green) serve the Tower City station, which is connected to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and Progressive Field via the enclosed Gateway Walkway. The Red Line also provides service to the West 3rd Street Station, a short walk from Cleveland Browns Stadium. The HealthLine (Bus Rapid Transit) runs along Euclid Avenue, connecting various downtown points. Additionally, free Downtown Trolleys (E-Line, C-Line, B-Line) serve the Warehouse District, Public Square, Tower City, the Entertainment District on East 4th Street, and Playhouse Square.

Ohio City

Ohio City is a trendy and vibrant neighborhood known for its diverse dining and entertainment scene, including high-end cocktail bars, beer gardens, and farm-to-table restaurants. It is home to the iconic West Side Market and features beautiful historic homes, offering a 'hipster-feeling' yet historically rich atmosphere. It is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in Cleveland.

Ohio City is well-connected to downtown. The RTA Red Line Rapid Transit serves the West 25th Street-Ohio City station, conveniently located across from the West Side Market. Numerous RTA bus routes, including the Ohio City Connector, link the neighborhood to downtown Cleveland. An Ohio City Shuttle is also available for Guardians games.

Tremont

Tremont is a charming neighborhood with an artistic and residential feel, known for its gourmet food options, craft coffee shops, trendy galleries, and beautifully restored Victorian homes. It is highly regarded as a safe neighborhood with a crime rate lower than the average.

Tremont is served by RTA bus routes like the 25. The RTA Red Line subway and Blue Line light rail also have routes that pass near Tremont.

University Circle

University Circle is Cleveland's cultural hub, home to several museums, gardens, and Case Western Reserve University. It offers a more relaxed yet engaging atmosphere with cultural institutions. It is consistently ranked among the safest neighborhoods in Cleveland.

The HealthLine bus rapid transit runs along Euclid Avenue, directly connecting University Circle to Downtown Cleveland. The RTA Red Line also serves this area.

Arrival and exit strategy

Transit and approach

The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) offers rapid transit and bus services, including the Red Line and HealthLine, with stops close to the ballpark. RTA's free downtown trolleys (E-Line and B-Line) also provide access. The RTA Walkway from Tower City opens three hours prior to baseball games for easy access.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: Dedicated rideshare pickup and drop-off areas are located near Ontario Street and Carnegie Avenue. Lyft has a dedicated pickup and drop-off area on Erie Court. Uber previously had a dedicated area at East 9th and Erie Court.

Parking: Official parking is available in the Gateway East Garage (650 E Huron Rd, Cleveland, OH 44115). Fans with parking passes can enter as early as 3 hours before game time. Reserve parking in advance with ParkMobile. ADA parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking prices typically range from $10-$30.

Popular options for post-game late night activities near Progressive Field include The Clevelander Bar & Grill (834 Huron Road East) and Thirsty Parrot (on the corner of East Ninth & Bolivar), both known for being open before and after games in the Gateway District.
