Where to stay for Spectrum Center

Uptown Charlotte / Charlotte City Center

Uptown

Uptown is Charlotte's central business district and the heart of the city, offering immediate access to several major sports venues, a wide array of dining options, nightlife, and cultural attractions. It is highly walkable and ideal for those who want to be in the midst of the action.

Uptown is the primary transit hub in Charlotte. It is served by both the LYNX Blue Line light rail and the CityLYNX Gold Line streetcar, providing extensive connectivity. Numerous bus lines also converge here. Bank of America Stadium is approximately 1 mile from the center of Uptown and is accessible via the CATS bus system (e.g., Line 16) or a short walk.

South End

Located just southwest of Uptown, South End is a trendy and rapidly growing neighborhood known for its vibrant arts scene, numerous breweries, popular restaurants, and lively atmosphere. It offers a balance between urban energy and a distinct local feel.

South End boasts excellent public transit connectivity via the LYNX Blue Line light rail, with multiple stations like Bland Street Station and New Bern Station. This provides direct and efficient access to all Uptown venues. The light rail is considered a safe and efficient transportation option, even after events.

NoDa (North Davidson)

NoDa, known as Charlotte's Arts and Entertainment District, offers an eclectic and vibrant atmosphere with numerous art galleries, live music venues, independent shops, and local breweries. It has a strong sense of community and a unique character, providing an authentic Charlotte experience.

NoDa is conveniently served by the LYNX Blue Line light rail, with the 36th Street Station providing direct access to the heart of the neighborhood. This light rail connection makes it easy to travel to Uptown venues. A microtransit shuttle service, Jump Transit, also operates within NoDa and surrounding areas, offering an additional local transit option.

Dilworth

Dilworth is one of Charlotte's oldest and most charming neighborhoods, characterized by its beautiful tree-lined streets, historic homes, and a strong community vibe. It offers a more relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere with upscale boutiques and restaurants, while still being very close to Uptown.

Dilworth is minutes away from Uptown. It has good access to CATS bus routes. While not directly on the LYNX Blue Line, the Carson Station is a light rail stop that serves the general area, typically requiring a short walk or additional bus connection depending on the specific location within Dilworth.
