Highmark Stadium Guide

NFL · Buffalo

Last updated: 3/4/2026

Highmark Stadium’s location in the suburb of Orchard Park requires a transit plan, so take the NFTA Game Day Express bus from downtown to avoid traffic and extremely long post-game rideshare delays. If driving, parking passes must be purchased in advance for most lots, as they do not accept day-of-game cash or credit card payments.

Arrival and exit strategy

Transit and approach

Public transportation options include the NFTA Metro Bus Game Day Express service. Various local bars and restaurants may also offer private shuttle services. Rideshare services like Uber and Lyft have a designated pickup and drop-off zone located on the western end of the adjacent ECC South Campus.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: The designated rideshare pickup and drop-off zone at Highmark Stadium is located on the western end of the adjacent ECC South Campus. Fans should anticipate extremely long delays for post-game pickups due to high demand.

Parking: Starting with the 2025 season, all Buffalo Bills controlled parking lots, excluding Lot 2 ADA and Lot 6 ADA, will require advanced purchase parking passes. There will be no day-of-game cash or credit card transactions for these lots. Accessible parking in Lot 2 ADA and Lot 6 ADA is on a first-come, first-served basis and payment upon arrival is cashless. Carpooling is strongly encouraged, and fans are advised to add their mobile parking permits to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet before arriving.

The game-day experience

  • Atmosphere area: Highmark Stadium is located in Orchard Park, New York, a suburb just south of Buffalo. It is situated at 1 Bills Drive and is easily accessible from major highways such as I-90 and Route 219.
  • Tailgating: Tailgating is permitted in most stadium parking lots, which generally open four hours before the game. Fans must have a valid game ticket to be in the parking lots. Tailgating is restricted to the area directly in front of or behind one's vehicle, and saving parking spaces is not allowed. Tailgating is not permitted in the Administrative Lot, Team Member Lot, Training Center Lot, Tunnel Lot, and Youth Stadium Lot.
  • Signature food: Popular food items at Highmark Stadium include Buffalo wings, beef on weck sandwiches, Shout! Chicken Sandwich, Walking Taco, Tim Hortons, Dog House, and La Nova pizza.
  • Fan tradition: Local fan traditions are largely centered around the 'Bills Mafia' culture, which includes legendary tailgating with activities such as jumping through tables, drinking shots out of bowling balls, and the iconic 'ketchup and mustard ceremony' involving Pinto Ron. The 'Shout!' song is a prominent part of game day, and Zubaz pants are considered an unofficial fan uniform. Bills fans are also known for their philanthropy and occasionally help shovel snow off the field and bleachers on cold game days.
  • Pregame institution: Pinto Ron's Tailgate at Hammer's Lot (Near Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY)
