The Domain is your best bet for a hotel, putting you near plenty of restaurants and a MetroRail stop with a straight shot to McKalla Station. Heads up: Q2's bag policy is incredibly strict—they don’t allow any bags, not even clear ones—so leave everything at your hotel to avoid the locker fee.

Where to stay for Q2 Stadium

The Domain area is considered an ideal neighborhood for hotels due to its convenient proximity to Q2 Stadium and its wide array of shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

Downtown Austin

Downtown Austin offers a central location with a vibrant atmosphere, diverse dining, and lively nightlife, providing a balanced experience for visitors.

The area has excellent bus service with numerous CapMetro routes. The MetroRail Downtown Station provides convenient access to Q2 Stadium's McKalla Station. Additionally, COTA shuttle services often depart from downtown locations, such as Waterloo Park/Moody Amphitheater, for events at Circuit of the Americas. The UT campus is also easily accessible via walking or short bus/shuttle rides.

North Burnet/Gateway (near Q2 Stadium)

This neighborhood offers direct proximity to Q2 Stadium, making it highly convenient for Austin FC fans. It has a more relaxed atmosphere compared to downtown and is a growing area with local businesses.

Q2 Stadium is located in the North Burnet/Gateway neighborhood. It is directly served by CapMetro Rail via McKalla Station, which drops off on the east side of the stadium. Several CapMetro bus routes, including 3, 383, 392, and 803, also serve the stadium area, with increased frequency on game days. Park & Ride facilities like the North Lamar Transit Center and Pavilion Park & Ride connect to the stadium via bus routes.

Arrival and exit strategy

Transit and approach

Capital Metro (CapMetro) provides public transit options, including bus routes (3, 383, 392, 803) that drop off near the stadium, and MetroRail service to McKalla Station, which is directly adjacent to the stadium on the East side. CapMetro boosts service frequency on game days and offers Park & Ride facilities.

Rideshare and parking

Rideshare: Rideshare drop-off and pick-up are located on Delta Drive, accessed via Metric, on the East side of Q2 Stadium. The pickup area after games is also on Delta Drive.

Parking: On-site parking is limited, so fans are encouraged to pre-purchase parking passes through the Austin FC app or Pavemint. Capital Metro Park & Ride facilities offer an alternative.

After the event

The Lexus Club remains open for approximately 30 minutes after Austin FC matches for ticket holders. The nearby 'The Domain' area offers various shopping, dining, and entertainment options for late-night activities.

  • Atmosphere area: Q2 Stadium is located in the North Burnet/Gateway neighborhood of North Austin. This area is characterized as a growing tech and entertainment hub, in close proximity to 'The Domain' shopping and entertainment district.
  • Tailgating: Tailgating is not permitted on Q2 Stadium-owned and operated lots (North Lot, Ford East Lot, and Southwest Lot). However, activations, beer/wine sales, and food options are available in the H-E-B Plaza/Calle Norte and Live Oak Park outside the stadium.
  • Signature food: Q2 Stadium highlights local food partners, including Michelin-starred La Barbecue, Chinese bao buns from Bao'd Up, Argentinian empanadas from Little Patagonia, falafel and shawarma wraps from Shawarma Point, Mexican tacos from OneTaco, shishito and elote corndogs from Austin Table, and Kerbey Lane's Queso (Classic and Vegan) from a dedicated cart.
  • Fan tradition: Austin FC fan traditions are notable for their passionate Supporters' Section (Sections 101-105), which features standing-only areas, drums, chants, and coordinated displays from supporter groups such as Los Verdes and La Murga de Austin. Chants of 'Verde! Listos!' are a common fixture of the fan experience.
